The facility is Japan's first urban circular ropeway, which opened in April 2021 as a means of transportation connecting Sakuragicho Station in front of JR and the New Port Pier Canal Park in the Yokohama city center waterfront area. The Sakuragicho Station of the ropeway is located in a well-accessible area in front of the East Exit Square of JR Sakuragicho Station (a 1-minute walk from Sakuragicho Station), while the Canal Park Station on the opposite bank is connected to the commercial facility Yokohama World Porters via a corridor, making it conveniently located for access to nearby tourist spots such as Yokohama Cosmo World and the Red Brick Warehouse.
